Building Up Jax

Some major store openings are set for the Town Center area this month.

Firebirds opened at The Strand earlier this week, and today PGA Tour Superstore will open its doors. And on Wednesday, the long-awaited IKEA will open at Gate Parkway and I-295.

Additionally, Wawa is expected to open this month.

Several other restaurants are nearing completion and have begun the hiring process in preparation for opening.

Expect the list of November openings in this area to grow quickly, as tenants of The Strand and Town Center Promenade scramble to open in time for the holiday rush.

  • A new three-story CubeSmart self-storage building will be built at 2004 Edison Ave.
  • Plans were submitted for a 10,000 square foot St. Vincent’s healthcare clinic along Gate Parkway near the Town Center.
  • Floor and Décor plans to open a 74,000 square foot showroom on Brightman Blvd. near Topgolf and the future site of iFLY Indoor Skydiving, according to plans filed this week.
  • No, Roz & Ali is technically not a new store at the Town Center – it’s an offshoot of Dress Barn, which has held that space since the mall first opened.
